Baby Food Diet The Newest Celebrity Weight Loss Method

by TaylorR on June 10, 2010

Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Reese Witherspoon are practically the faces of this new crazy, ridiculous

Yum, liquid squash! Check out it's nutritional profile below!

diet. But that doesn’t say much, Gwyneth used to be the face of the raw food diet and l can tell you how not fun that one is (in case you didn’t read my raw food diet experiment, check it out).

Any-who the new big diet hitting Hollywood appears to be the baby food diet, yup you read that correctly, good ole Gerber Baby. Eat 14 servings of pureed peas, carrots and sweet potatoes and drop weight. Well no shit Sherlock but of course if you eat nothing but food meant for 20 lb humans you are going to lose weight.

Wow... look at all those nutrients and calories and protein... OH MY!

And I am sorry, the only jar of baby food I would ever consider eating in adulthood would be the sweet potatoes… I won’t lie my mom used to pack them in my lunch in elementary school because I loved them!

But enough of my opinion, I want you to make your own mind up… so here’s what this “baby food diet” is all about. Developed by personal trainer Tracy Anderson it is meant as a more health detox diet plan. Most detoxes have you lose weight quickly but then gain it all back in a week… so her thoughts are that eating pureed foods will keep your digestive track going strong so you’re still detoxing with liquids but your body is running the way is should… interesting.

Here are a few pros and cons of the baby food  diet:

PROS:
No additives, no preservatives or added chemicals
All the cool Hollywood girls are doing it
Portions are small enough to help control cravings and make you feel like you’re eating rather than just drinking like most detoxifications
Lots of varieties

CONS
Small portions, probably lead you to binge eat later on
It’s baby food! Even doing the airplane with it doesn’t make it look any better.
Taste is bland, no spices, added flavors

What’s your opinion? Will you be sitting down for lunch next week and pull out a jar of pureed green beans?
