Dan and I were jamming out to a few oldies but goodies last night and some great songs came on that are simply timeless for working out. If you’re getting fed up with the newest top hits that play over and over and over then just look back over the years in your itunes library and go back to what had you dancing around the house 5 years ago or even longer!
Keep in mind the huge benefits of listening to music during your workout, of course it helps the time pass, it makes weird gym guys stay away, but it also has you working out at a more intense, higher calorie burn level than without!
Research shows that listening to fast beat music will have you working harder and burning more fat than if you listened to slower songs or no music at all.
Here is a list of my favorite oldies but goodies when it comes to working out!
Old School Workout Music:
- No Doubt… Underneath It All
- Kris Kross… Jump
- Blue’s Travelers… Run Around
- Janet Jackson… Black Cat
- Wang Chung… Everybody Have Fun Tonight
- Kenny Loggins… Footloose
- Bootylicious… Destiny’s Child
- Sisqo… Thong Song
- Ace of Base… Don’t Turn Around (this along with Hootie and the Blowfish was my first cd)
- Black Eye Peas.. My Humps
I am pretty sure I can make this list go on and on! There are great songs I haven’t heard in years that makes me just as excited as if it were my first time listening to them! So stop playing Miley’s “The Climb” and Pinks “Fun House” (I love this song though) and add some old school spice.
What are your favorites to sweat to?
PS… wanted to add a “GO TIGERS” as Clemson is on a winning streak! Keep it up!
