Can “Normal” Women Use Creatine?

You will never find me to be one of those trainers that sells out to promote some crappy supplement that does nothing for you and taste like something my dog wouldn’t even eat. I will never promote a supplement that I wouldn’t use myself.

I get this question a lot though… what about creatine for women?

A lot of women (and I mean a lot) are afraid of this stuff, you might have some fear that it’s like a steroid or something that will make you jacked and bigger than Arnold, but it’s nothing like that.

Creatine is a naturally occuring substance in the body, it’s actually an energy source for your muscles. It’s for fast movements or anaerobic exercise. If you’re sprinting 50 yards or if you’re lifting a weight for a few reps then it’s creatine that is being used. So if you are a woman and decide to take creatine, you’re just adding energy to your muscles so that maybe you can get in 1 or 2 more reps or even another set.

So it’s not messing with your hormones or causing your muscles to grow uncontrollably, it just gives you the energy to have a kick ass workout… in a natural way!

It’s completely safe, the only drawbacks are that not everyone reacts to it. You might not notice a difference at all. The best kind to go with to try and experiment is creatine-monohydrate.

Have I taken creatine?

You bet, it has actually helped me not only in the weight room but with my 5K finishing times!
