It’s Monday… which means it’s time to spill the means on my own journey to get the wedding body I want! Yes, even trainers have to work to get and to keep a tight, toned body.
Change My Workout!
Things are actually going well… it was definitely time to make a change with my own workout program, I was getting a bit bored, so change it up I did! Dan and I decided to do high intensity circuits for a few weeks, these are great for not just your muscles and staying lean and toned, but also for cardio health. Trust me, after one of my circuits and you will know what I am talking about (in a good way, of course).
So we started that yesterday and it kicked our butts. His more than mine since I am actually in pretty good cardio shape already. Dan on the other hand hates to run, and because he’s naturally very thin, he really just doesn’t need to (besides the heart and lung health of it).But it was a great change, and I am excited again to workout.
In case you’re curious here’s the circuit we did
1 Min spent on each exercise… no rest in between (except after entire circuit is done, rest 1 minute)… completed 4 sets!
- Crazies (like a burpee but at the jump up, grab a pull up bar above you and do a chin up, drop down do burpee and repeat)
- Lunge Walk/Lunge Jumps (40 sec of lunge walks, 20 sec of jumps)
- Bent over rows with barbbell
- Laying leg raises (straight legs, lay on back, engage stomach to raise and lower legs, don’t let the legs hit the gound).
Thanks For Bridal Showers
The eating part… It’s going better, that’s for sure. Still not where I want it but better. I have two weddings coming up for friends and family so this past weekend I had two showers… one had a dessert theme, which I didn’t know and since I
didn’t eat before I went I was starving. I did indulge in a 1/2 slice of cheese cake to satisfy me till I could get real food. Then the other one for my soon to be sister-in-law was the next morning with a brunch theme… I love mimosa’s! Yes, I had one or two.
Other than that everything has been on track. We had a few friends over the other night for a birthday celebration and as a healthier cake alternative I made an angel food cake (so good)! Breakfast has been two eggs on a whole-wheat giant cracker… lunch is a piece of fruit and a scrambled egg pita sandwhich (I am loving eggs right now) and dinner is normally baked chicken with veggies. Of course there are 2-3 more snacks in there too… my favorite being all natural almonds.
Oh Yea… The Extra Workout
I forgot, I have added yoga to my morning routine each day. It’s not an amazing workout but it helps relax me, get the blooding flowing, and get me started with the day feeling great. I recommend Rodney Yee to everyone, right now I am doing his AM Yoga, it’s great for beginners and for more advanced yogis… Dan can’t touch his toes and I can still do full splits and we both love this set!
That’s it for my Monday diary! How’s your week ahead looking?
