The end of the summer is coming to an end, schools start next week and the stores are taking down the cute summer tops and replacing them with darker colored sweaters and pants….
What does all this mean when it comes to fitness? After summer many women lose their motivation to stay in peak shape… no vacations to be bathing suite ready for, no more showy tops and shorts or skirts to show off our physique! How depressing.
For the average woman the end of summer means slacking on fitness and healthy nutrition leading to the classic New Year’s Resolution: Lose weight and get back in shape. It’s a yearly spiral… but this doesn’t have to be you.
Stay on top of your workouts, not matter how much you may not want to. Remember it’s apart of your lifestyle and working out and eating right are habbits that we’ve been working to ingrain. Just 21 days… that’s all it takes to make something a habit. But it takes only a week or two of off behavior to break the habit.
Great Fitness Motivation Tips To Follow Once Summer Is Over:
- Choose clothes that still make you feel sexy and want to look sexy even if you are covering more skin. Don’t ditch the sun dresses for sweats!
- It’s a business meeting! If you’re a teacher and you’ve enjoyed the past months off then you have found it easy to get in your workouts, now you have to work at it again. Schedule it in as part of your day and just like a meeting treat it like a priority. If you have time from 5-6 pm for a workout than at 5 you should be walking in the gym doors!
- Have others to talk with. Get your friends together and stay on each other’s backs with weekly chats or girl nights to talk about how everything is going in terms of fitness and workouts.
- Keep taking pictures! I can’t stress how much this helps. Take pictures every 2 weeks wearing the same thing, at the same time of day in the same pose to see how your body is progressing.
