Gosh, can’t believe it has already been a week since my last fitness diary… how time flies!

Dear Nutrition Diary

Remember that last week I started my two week fat blasting? Well, I am still going pretty strong! Cutting carbs really isn’t hard for me and since I gave up chocolate for Lent, I can easily keep away from it. From Monday-Thursday I took in around 30-40 grams of carbs per day. Now I know what you’re saying… that is less than in a slice of bread! But my body responds well to low carbs.

You might get lethargic if you’re not used to a low carb nutrition program but I eat low carb for my everyday lifestyle so cutting it down really doesn’t change my energy levels too much.

I will admit that Friday my soon to be in-laws came from Phili to visit so I did relax and just enjoyed their time here. I fixed a dinner which of course was still a clean meal but I did enjoy a normal diet of healthy carbs. The thing is, that this is actually a good thing. Studies show that to help keep your metabolism on high when you’re cutting calories or carbs, it is good to have a cheat day. This just reinforces to your brain that you’re not starving and that your metabolism can stay burning lots of calories!

So the dinner looked like this:

  • Appetizer… Sauteed Shrimp (marinated in ginger, olive oil, and a bit of honey)
  • Meal… Homemade Pesto Chicken, my secret Greek potatoes, and salad (bell peppers, mozzarella, olives, and almond slivers).
  • Dessert… Angel food cake with coconut

My Exercise Diet

My workouts went great this week! I changed up my exercises and made sure that I was doing BIG moves that meant big calorie burn and muscle toning! My favorite exercise this week was the barbell snatch… it can be a hard one but once you get it down you feel an amazing workout from it.

I have been exhausted from doing filming for The Art Of Weight Lifting, working and preparing for Dan’s family so the cardio stayed low intensity this week. Which was fine, my body needed a rest from all the HIIT workouts lately.

I haven’t weighed myself or taken my body fat % but I will next Monday and I will post my picture and stats up… fingers crossed we will see a difference!
