Friendly Friday Coffee Chat: The Best Shoes Ever & Girl Chat

by TaylorR

It’s Friday, it’s Friday!

What better way to start a friday off than sitting down with a friend over a cup of iced coffee?

Want to have a coffee date?

coffee date

I got this idea from my friend Bonnie and thought it was too fun to pass on.

Completely off topic, but Bonnie is running her first marathon this weekend, go check her out and wish her luck!

Grab your coffee (or tea) of choice and sit down. I have so much to get off my chest.

And if you’re curious, my coffee of choice: an iced almond milk latte with 1 pump coconut.

If we were sitting down to coffee…

I would share with you that tomorrow is my boot camp’s first fitness contest!

The ladies will be going against one another in a competition that tests all aspects of fitness.

Only 1 Charleston boot camper will walk away with the tittle:

Ms Charleston Fitness

I’m pretty stoked, but feel extremely overwhelmed getting all of the last minute details taken care of.

But I know, we will all have a blast.

I can’t wait for them to see the fun challenges they’ll have to conquer, there may be a few tires and logs to deal with!

I would also share with you my love of these shoes:

 nike free bionics

My Nike Free Bionics are quickly turning into one of my favorite pairs of cross trainers EVER.

When I first received them, Dan quickly asked: “do you really need another pair of shoes?”

“I’m a woman, aren’t I? Of course, I do! Plus, these are minimal shoes… my first pair!”

To be such a minimal shoe, I am in awe of how padded and comfortable they are.

Each time a client ask about them (they stand out a lot so I receive a lot of comments), I peel them off my feet for them to see for themselves.

Seriously, if we were having a coffee, I would probably do the same for you.

They are that great, and I have really enjoyed sharing my training and seeing others that are loving theirs at the new Women’s Finish line Community!

And yes, the “in your face color” makes me love them that much more.

We would also talk about my sugar addiction.

As of lately I have been craving way too much sugar… fructose sugar that is.

fruit addiction

I feel like I can’t get enough fruit in my body.

I wake up craving juicy watermelon and fresh blueberries and go to bed wishing that I could eat just 1 more crisp pink lady apple (my favorite kind).

Yes, it’s just fruit, but I should probably scale back a bit. After all, I might turn into a banana soon.

And finally, you might ask about my family.

And I would share that my niece turned 2 this week. We are going to be celebrating tomorrow after the boot camp championship. It’s hard to believe that she’s two years old.

It’s amazing how fast kids grow up and how adorable they are during the process.

I love that little crazy munchkin and feel so blessed to live around her to watch her grow.  Since we don’t have kids yet, it’s nice to have her to spoil and love on.

I carry a picture in my wallet, so around now, it’s likely you would be shown this picture:

Of course it wouldn’t be all about me, that would be selfish and extremely boring. Who likes to talk about themselves all the time?

So you would share what’s going on with your life right now and I would be excited to listen.

So tell me then, what’s one thing on this Friendly Friday you would like to share?

OMG – I wish I lived in Charleston – I want to participate in your Boot Camp fitness contest!!! I hope you post the challenges next week (so I can play!!).
I would share that Chris is leaving on a trip and I always (even after 17+ years) get a little sad which makes me cranky when he leaves.

I love the coffee talk. Friday is the perfect time for that. So excited for you and your bootcampers! How exciting. I would share with you that I cannot believe that it’s the end of June already. I would share that I’m looking forward to my dye with the gym in the morning. It’s been too long since I’ve really spent quality time with weights. Happy weekend.

During coffee chat I would share that I am reading a great book, the Foodist. Tons of great common sense for living a healthy life. I would also share that I did a 10K race last weekend with 99% pain free knees. It took me 6 months to get back to be able to run 10 without pain, after a greuling half marathon in October. Life is good.

I have heard of the foodist! I should grab a copy!

  • Cassie

I would say thank you for introducing me to blonde ponytail blog. I love seeing how others are doing during their pregnancy. Second, I really can’t wait for Baby Woos to arrive and to get back to class. Third, I’m excited that I will be doing the half marathon with you in Jan & be reaching for a new goal… I never thought I would be excited to train my body to run 13 miles. :)

I can not wait until January! I love any race where I get to start with my friends! Can’t wait.
