The scale. It’s evil and both you and I know it… it’s also useless and for some reason we can’t pull ourselves away from the morning torture. Some women struggle and weigh themselves 2 to 4 times a day.
I’ll talk a little more about the scale and it’s real use, but let’s first tackle the question…
If you’re going to weight yourself, I suggest you do it every three weeks.
Why Weigh Yourself Every Three Weeks And More More?
The biggest reason to wait that long is because that is how long it will take to see some actual affects of what you’re doing. When I say actual affects… I mean affects that will shock you for the good or bad.
But’s it’s really more complicated than that.
When you start an exercise plan like circuit workouts to burn fat, you have two things going on:
- You are burning body fat like a wild fire.
- You’re building lean muscle mass, a stronger more efficient body.
Lean Muscle Mass Weighs More Than Fat
But, lean muscle mass also takes up considerable less space. So as you burn fat, you’re weight won’t budge. Most women freak out over this, but when they check their measurements… most find they’ve lost inches from their waist.
If you are doing things like major calorie cutting and lots of running, the exact opposite will happen.
- You’re body will turn to lean muscle mass for energy because fat requires no energy to store.
- Your build up more fat for an energy source since you’re not getting enough food.
So your weight will appear to be going down. But what is really happening is you are becoming skinny fat and putting your health in real danger.
Three Weeks In Between Weighing Sessions Is Long Enough To Notice This Happening
If you really work hard, three weeks is the magic number of weeks. You’ll really start to see things happen around then and then it all goes exponential from there.
After the fourth and fifth week, you’ll really start to see weight coming off. So if you weigh yourself after the third week… then after the sixth week…
You’ll be blown away!
Not only will your body be tighter, but now you’ll notice that you’ll weigh 10 to 15 pounds less. Mainly because you’re burning fat like crazy. This also assumes you have that much fat to lose.
Why You Should NOT Weigh Yourself Daily of Weekly
When you weight yourself daily or weekly, you are letting natural weight fluctuations affect your impression of real weight loss.
What I mean is this…
Your body’s weight is constantly fluctuating a couple pounds here and there. Just drinking water can really impact your weight.
If you’re bloated or anything thing like that, it will change too.
Maybe you’re dehydrated and you weight less that you should.
Don’t let this inconsequential weight gain and loss dictate how you feel about your body.
