I am starting a new “segment” to the blog… “IN THE MAGAZINES”. The goal is to bring some great info that is floating around out there and reveal the not so great stuff too that is incorrectly leading you astray from hitting your goals.

Don't Feel "Round" This Halloween!

The first one is going to actually be good (I’m in a great mood this morning):

Avoiding Halloween Candy Binging

To help you stay away from the sugar high and the guilt of just eating a bag of candy corn in 10 minutes (I have done this before in College and definitely don’t recommend it)!

Where I got this: Fitness Magazine

Tip 1… One big tip they recommend is waiting until the last minute (like 3:00 on Oct 31st) to buy Trick or Treat candy. I do this because I know that I would pick at it if I bought it days before. Especially if I opened it and went ahead and poured it into the candy bowl… that spells trouble.

Tip #2… don’t buy your favorite, unresistable candies! If you love Reese’s then don’t get them! Your best choices are Tootsie Pops because they’re relatively low in calories (60 cals) and 3 Muskateers Fun Size (63 cals). I LOVE LOVE LOVE Milk Duds so I just keep away from them… out of sight out of mind.

Tip #3… if you have leftovers, first try to give them to the kid next door, take them to your workroom for others or just toss them.

But don’t leave them sitting around the house. I have had the idea that “if I am going to eat them all eventually I might as well just eat them all now to be done with them” that’s not a good idea at all!

Tip #4… If you do binge just relax, because you can’t reverse it. So don’t let it make your motivation fall. Just breath, look at the picture on the fridge of your goal, and get back on the clean eating and workout wagon.

So Happy Halloweeen! I am still trying to decide what to be so if you have any ideas it’s definitely appreciated!
