Increase Energy With This Delicious, Healthy Protein Shake

I can’t take full credit for this recipe, but I couldn’t not share because it’s awesome.

What’s So Great… How Do You Get The Energy Boost?

The bananas are complex carbs for energy and a great source of potassium to help recover after workout. Of course the whey protein and the peanut butter are perfect protein sources which also helps to boost your energy and help to avoid the munchies in the middle of the day and fight the desire for the 3:00 nap time.

Yogurt and honey are great because they have a vitamin B which helps to more efficiently turn food into fuel. I actually eat a serving of honey every day! And then last, the wheat germ is high in iron (something many active women are low in) and the cinnamon increase blood oxygen levels so you don’t feel sluggish or out of shape during your workout!

What You Need

  • 2 frozen bananas, peeled and chopped
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 2 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp wheat germ
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 3/4 c low-fat Greek yogurt
  • 4 Tbsp skim milk powder
  • 2 c ice

Makes 3 servings. Per serving: 294 cal,7 g fat(2 g sat), 38 g carbs, 102 mgsodium,4 g fiber, 25 g protein

If you don’t have 3 people to serve, just freeze the extra and when you’re ready for more set it out for 20 minutes to let it soften to enjoy!
