Today was great… after 3 weeks of off and on rain we finally had a beautiful summer day and we took full advantage of it. Dan and I went out on the boat with my dad (he’s had the boat for 3 years and this was our second outing)… we got there early to beat the traffic, the water was flat and as soon as we pulled up to the landing there were 2 dolphins swimming by.
Have I mentioned I live in Charleston, SC? And I LOVE living by the water.
Anyways… we headed to a island that I had never been to, Cape Romain. It’s a wildlife santuary so it’s in prestine condition and absolutely beautiful! I’ll post my personal pictures when I get the dowloaded, but for now I’ll put some from their site.
We walked for about 1.5 miles, just taking in the scenery, trying to scope out what was on the island and planning our next adventure. It was a great day, a great way to burn calories and enjoy the company of my favorite two men. And you better believe that after spending 5+ hours in the 95 degree temps that I came straight home and took a great power nap!

Since it was my official rest day, walking was a prefect way to get out and get moving without pushing my body… giving it time to relax after a week of hard workouts. For walking 3 miles, I burned as estimated 200 calories… but since I wasn’t concerned with that it wouldn’t have mattered if I only burned 50! It was great.
