Talk about your ultimate strange issue…
Eating too much of the wrong thing is a bigger problem than not eating at all.
Two major problems on the complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Both have to do with food.
Nearly 500 researchers (not sure why they can’t just give us the real number) from 50 countries compared health data from 1990 through 2010 for the Global Burden of Disease report. They said…
A Massive Shift In Global Health Trends
According to the research and data, there has been a HUGE increase in the obesity rates of 82% over the last two decades. That’s insane.
Middle Eastern countries showed a 100% increase in the obesity rate since 1990.
The Big Problems:
These top the list of leading causes of years spent sick or injured. Each one is directly related to, although not always caused by, obesity. According to Dr. Mokdad, “We’re even seeing a large percentage of people suffering back pain now. If we could lower the obesity rates, we’d see the numbers of noncommunicable diseases and pain decrease as well.”
Noncommunicable are diseases like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes… you can’t pass them to another person.
They found that women are living an average of 12.6 years longer. However all of these years are spend in misery. Injuries, daily pains, hospital visits, prescription drugs, and with all that comes stress, anxiety, depression, and so much more.
They found that deaths from heart disease is going down from what I would guess are much better procedures. However, the number of people diagnosed with heart disease is going up by large percentages.
Do You Want To Know What Is Really Scary?
The United Nations has been discussing the problem. They are essentially a huge government program and as you know from watching our government… they can’t handle anything correctly.
Would they come out with forced prevention laws? ideas? or ways to get people moving?
What do you think?
Maybe it’s going to be financial. I just read a study where more researchers are backing the idea of taxing sugary drinks and bad foods.
There Is A Shift Happening Right Now!
Things are culminating to a tipping point when it comes to our health. Things have to change and I think you can either be the source of that change or it’s going to be thrust upon you by government policies.
But as a population we are deteriorating our bodies faster every year. It can’t keep up like this.
If you’ve been unhealthy for awhile or you just want to be healthier… make your mind up NOW to start small changes in the right direction.
