So you are a cardio lover, me too. Now I know we all know that lifting weights is the only way to build muscle and is a quicker way to increase muscle definition and burn fat, but let’s face it sometimes we just cannot resist the treadmill.
Less is More…
When doing cardio you can really get a lot more out of 25-30 minutes of intense intervals then an hour of steady running, walking, biking, or ellipticalling. The best way to add killer intervals is to increase speed by ten mph or up the incline by 7%. Not only will this increase your heart rate, you will burn more calories, and challenge your muscles in a different way.If you are a beginner start at a walk and use your intervals to jog or walk up hill. More experienced women can run and sprint or run and then sprint uphill. Expect to be sore! Any piece of cardio equipment can be adapted to bring your body a new challenge.
