Stretching Exercises To Improve Muscle Gains

by TaylorR on September 27, 2009

Here’s a fun tip… did you know that studies show that stretching at the end of your workout can promote muscle recovery and muscle building activity?

Yup… it’s true. What is false is that you should stretch before your exercise. This can loosen up muscles and tendons and lead you to increased risk of injury. Warm-ups should be more active like light jogging or body weight exercises to get the blood flowing.

Anyways, here are some great stretching exercises to use at the END of your workout!

Feel free to post any of your favorites too!

yes, I really find stretching at the end of a session so very important…. helps to return your body to its normal state… I have been doing it for years after gym and sport in general… warming up beforehand is also essential…it is worth the effort and time…will help to avoid injuries!

yea warm-up is important but just make sure it’s an active warm-up… it should pertain to your workout so if its weight training you should warmup with squats, push-ups etc. and if you’re getting ready to do intervals or cardio warm-up with a few minutes (5) with light running.
