Meet Taylor Ryan:

kindalI am a  NASM certified personal trainer, an award winning figure competitor and a gymnastics/Cheerleading strength coach… ladies fitness beyond the treadmill is my passion and I love sharing the knowledge that I continue to gather with women who share that same passion. I am always looking for a challenge and wanting to treat my body the best it can be treated because who wants to look back and say “remember when I was fit?” Definitely not me.

I consider myself the forever student… there is always new studies, new reports, claims and workout theories available every day. I am never satisfied with just one idea, there is no one proven method that works for all women and that’s what I bring to the table. Help finding the way for you to get results.

My Workouts

I do believe is retiring most of the machines you see spread around the gym and head straight to the weights… that’s right I said it, women should visit the weights. Our workouts are designed for your goals and for you to reach them as quickly as biologically possible. This means multi-joint moves to burn calories, build toned muscles and burn off fat.

What’s my take on supplements… um no. Why waste money on supplements that aren’t A. shown to provide any huge gains and B. That are not 100% safe for your body? Now don’t get be wrong, I am a fan of a few but only those with the research to back them up… you know protein whey powder and a multivitamin!

Ladies fitness isn’t much different from the way a man works out, but breaking the mental barriers that society has placed is the battle.

Women want definition, toned physique and a great overall fitness health… and I know just how to do it. Keep the ladies figure, you won’t get huge ripped muscles, but the definition you’re craving.

The road to get here…

What makes me different than most other trainers? Well, I haven’t always been a great spokes person for health and fitness. In college I didn’t just gain the “freshman 15″ it was more like the “freshman 40″… after being an active high schooler and then getting to college to do nothing but sleep, eat, study and party, it caught up with me fast! I had to do something… I tried it all, and became obsessed with my weight and dieting.

I dieted for months and got to where I was eating 500-700 calories per day with 2-3 workouts a day too. The food wasn’t healthy, the running wasn’t healthy… I wasn’t healthy. Sure I was skinny, but who really wants to be skinny? All women want to look fit and healthy. A toned physique, nice curves and an apple bottom… I had none. I wish I could say I did this only for a short time but really it was an off and on thing for about 2 years.

Finally I realized as much as I worry about my diet and as much time as I spend in the gym I didn’t have a 6-pack, I didn’t have energy and I looked not like I wanted. I was doing something wrong… that’s when I changed. It wasn’t over night. But I inched my way into the weight room (with help from Dan) and learned about clean eating. I even started to eat meat again! And my life has kept changing since… for the better of course. Now ladies fitness is my passion, my life and not only what I do but what I follow. You’ll never hear me recommend something that I wouldn’t try myself!

Taylor Ryan and Dan Boyle are the owners of the ladies fitness site: The Art Of Weight Lifting helping women burn fat, build definition and live a healthier, better life.

Meet Dan Boyle:

Hi… I’m Dan!

You might be wondering why is a guy trying to help women in fitness and weight training?

That is a good question, but I have a good answer for you. You see Taylor is the expert woman trainer and I am an expert in the fitness field and business fields. I’ve been working out my whole life and wanted to help Taylor build her fitness business on the Internet where she can help more women exercise properly and create a community.

So that’s where I fit in. I help build the routines, help with the filming, and do most of the website and business marketing.

But I Know My Weight Training…

You will notice that I am not a huge body building kind of guy. I prefer to get ripped naturally without having to take all these crazy supplements that do nothing but empty your bank account. I fit into the fitness camp where you should be really strong doing complex (multi joint) exercises. I really think that both men and women should be able to do many pushups, pullups, chinups, and body weight exercises.

I have studied personal training and continue to study program design because it does interest me and helping Taylor help you really excites me. Women who lift weights are very attractive. Not just because they end up looking really good, but more so because of the confidence factor. Both men and women are attracted to confidence and when a women starts to see what weight training can do for them… their confidence skyrockets and that is really attractive.

That is what will happen to you. Weight training can quite literally change your life. That is why I want to help you and see you reach your goals… because like you… I want fitness to be a life long pursuit for me and there is no better way to do that then helping and hanging out with people who want to do them same.

I hope that helps explain a little more about where I come from and I look forward to getting to know you and hope to see you as a member of The Art of Weight Lifting… the premier women’s fitness community dedicated to giving you the best fitness exercises and fun!

I am 48 years old. I recently lost weight. However I still have large legs and carry major flab in my thighs. I am small on top compared to my lower body. I always wear pants to hide my legs, though people think I have a nice shape. I enjoy working out at home using dumbells and my own body weight as well as walking and dancing. Thank you for any advise you can give me!

Congrats for the weight loss! A lot of women have your issue, and what I recommend is upping your cardio but doing the right form of cardio. Since you can’t spot target weight loss you just need a program that will blast fat fast. For example, intervals are awesome. Just spend 20-25minutes doing interval sprints or running stairs. The stairs might be really helpful if you have access, where you can run a flight, walk back down, run again, walk down… for a total of 20 minutes. Keep up with the weight training for sure, doing moves like lunges, squats, split squats, etc.
