It’s Dan for your “normal” weekly recap. We completely missed last week’s recap and podcast. My sister was in town and Taylor and I were hanging out showing her a healthy good time!
Then the 4th of July was smack in the middle of the week. I don’t know about you, but I am not that big of a fan of Holiday’s in the middle of the week.
It throws everything off. I’m like… “What day is it exactly? because it feels like a Tuesday now since Wednesday felt like a Sunday.”
Do you prefer your Holidays midweek or weekend style?
Life is as back to normal as it can get and so is the weekly recap.
Sunday - Booo No Post
Jessica was visiting and we went to Drayton Hall here in Charleston then downtown to chill out. Taylor became a tester for LuLuLemon after meeting with the manager. That’s really cool.

Hopefully we’ll be able to team up and do some fun fitness and nutrition events here in Chucktown. If only we could do something streaming over the Internet… who knows maybe we can.
Monday – How To Order a Vegan Meal At A Non-Vegan Restaurant & Our Puree Experience

This was a recap of our fist experience at a vegetarian and vegan cafe here in town. We ate breakfast there with my Sis and it was all in all pretty good. A tad on the pricey scale for what you got, but I’d go back.
In this post you’ll also learn how to best order vegan at a non-vegan restaurant. Taylor has a lot of practice at this and I am always amazed at what she puts together form the menu.

Tuesday – Claim Independence From Your Diet On Independence Day

This was a great post about how you can and should eat whatever you want on the 4th of July. This also applies to most Holidays.
I alway laugh at the news media for making a big deal about healthy eating on Holidays. Then on “regular” days they will have chefs show off really unhealthy foods and desserts. It’s so backwards, but that’s our media for you.
Whenever you need some reassurance that cheating on your nutrition plan during a Holiday is okay… read this post.
Wednesday – The Best Vegan Chocolate Lava Cake You’ll Every Eat

If you have not read or seen this post, go there now!
Taylor made Jessica a vegan meal when she stayed with us Sunday night. Jessica is far from vegan and Taylor wanted to prove how amazing the food can be. Meat is overrated for sure (although I still eat it occasionally).
The dessert she made was this lava chocolate cake. A M A Z I N G!!!
The fact this was vegan, as healthy as a dessert can get, and tasted so good… WOW.
Taylor gives you the full recipe and with a little practice you can easily make and enjoy this too!

Thursday – 5 Reasons When Working Out Is A Bad Idea

This was a really great post. I can’t tell you how many times Taylor and I see both men and women running mid-day when the temperature is over 100 degrees.
That is a major risk of heat stroke, dehydration, and so much more.
There are times in your life when working out is a horrible idea. These are five big ones. Taylor told me should could have added at least 10 more, but she didn’t want to right a 5,000 word post.
Did You Know? Did you know that July 5th was the anniversary of the bikini being invented. Pretty amazing huh? Click here to read more about the bikini history.

It’s Practically The Weekend!
Sweetness… it’s practically the weekend. That is always a great thing.
We are going to shoot some cool YouTube videos this weekend and of course get back on track with our podcast which the latest episode will be posted in the sidebar or on it’s own page.
Do you have any questions for Taylor? Something about your training… nutrition… recipes… scheduling workouts or whatever?
Let her know in the comments. I think a great blog post is answering your questions and helping out as much as possible.
Thanks for reading. Have a fun… safe… and happy weekend!
