Finding a good whey protein is like finding a great pair of jeans… they’re hard to find, they either don’t look right, don’t fit right, or just don’t feel right, but when you find that one pair that goes “Ahhh, perfect” you hold on to them and just buy the same pair in different colors.
Same with whey, most whey either taste just God awful, or it doesn’t sit well in your stomach. When I find a good whey I stick with it because I don’t want to go through the experimental task of finding another.
So what whey do I use?
EAS 100% Whey Protein (Vanilla)
First off though, why do I even use whey? It’s not for body builders… including whey protein in your diet helps on several levels when it comes to getting in shape. First off, most wheys are low in calories, but since it is so high in protein is helps keep you fuller longer to help manage your nutrition.
Also, whey protein is easily and quickly digested compared to many other proteins making it ideal for a post workout snack to help replenish muscles and aid in recovery to help you not just shed more fat pounds but to tone up!
Are you afraid of the whey?
Don’t be, it isn’t steroids, there are no negative side affects (some brands may make you gassy though) and you won’t bulk up. This coming from a 5’5 112 lb girl who drinks 2 servings a day!
Back to the EAS Whey
I like this protein for a couple of reasons… first, it taste great. If it taste like chalk then I would not want to drink it, duh! But it actually taste really great, the chocolate and the vanilla.
Second, it blends well. I don’t even have to use milk to make a great shake. I just use about 1.5 cups of water and 2 ice cubes and throw it in my Magic Bullet and it is well blended, and a great thick consistency. But I think I might be rare that I don’t like to make it with milk.
And third, it is versatile. If I bake anything I can throw some whey in there in place of a little flour. This protein does actually rise a bit! Cookies, protein bars, cakes and my favorite… pancakes come out great.
So just wanted to put this out there because I do get asked often what kind of protein I take… and now you have it. It can be ordered several placed online or if you have a Costco, you can pick up the 5 lb bag there (that is over 70 servings)!

There are two more protein brands that I highly recommend, but I will save those to share!

This protein is awesome when you put it with yogurt… there is not much that tastes better than it!
