I got a question this morning from Dawn asking for help battling with cellulite. Cellulite is a funny little demon…

Women are all embarrassed about their cellulite but the truth is that 90% of ALL women (skinny, fat, tall, short) have to deal with it as some point in their lives. Even the models and actresses you see on magazines are not blessed cellulite-free… they’re blessed with a good photo editor!

Yes, cellulite is fat, but not the same fat that jiggles, and increases your health risk. It is fat that gets stuck under your connective tissue. It’s trapped. I like to imagine it like a thin layer of bubble wrap under the skin. The problem with it is that it’s pretty hard to get rid of… but you can get rid of it!

  1. Stay hydrated. Staying hydrated keeps blood flowing, the toxins flowing out and your skin feeling amazing.
  2. Strength train. Tighten and get some muscles. Strength training is the key to losing fat and toning your body. If you want to decrease or even possibly get rid of cellulite this is a necessity. Cardio won’t do it, dieting won’t do it… proper exercise is where it’s at.
  3. Massage. It’s true that if you massage your problem areas (regularly) you can reduce the appearance of cellulite. I remember a friend’s mom used to use a rolling pen on her legs to “roll out” her cellulite. This was actually a great thing. It just has to be done regularly.
  4. Eat clean. If you eat like crap except your body to look like crap. That’s just how it goes. But if you eat clean… which can taste amazing then you’re body will look clean. Makes perfect sense. To have a body you are proud of there is no way to avoid the healthy eating part. You simply can’t workout then go home and eat take out every night and then be dissappointed you’re not getting results.

Those are the best ways to battle and come on victorious against cellulite issues. Hope this answers your questions Dawn.
